The infamous Sperm Whale 'Moby Dick' by Herman Melville inspired my newest character. There was an initial challenge of rendering the 'White Whale' - keeping the format of a white background like Natural History and Zoological illustrations. This was solved by a walk on the clifftops. Staring down into the ocean I saw no white, all pale colours were washed in blues and greens.
