The Magician

Inspired by tales of the Kraken.

While snacking on ships was the most famous Kraken party trick it was also believed the Monster could appear in different places at the same time. Conjuring up giant whirlpools from nowhere was also a firm favourite. With these tales in mind I decided to characterise the magical properties rather than the grotesque depictions of the Kraken we are so used to. I like the way the mantle of the squid could be interpreted as a wizard cap.
